Fishing Seasons

January

Cooler weather means the flats will be loaded with large aggressive Barracudas, Jack Crevalle and Shark fishing is excellent. Permit fishing is good and will just get better later in the month. Tarpon may show up later in the month, if the weather is nice.

February

Permit fishing remains good. Some migratory Tarpon show on nice days. Bonefish may be found on warmer days. Barracuda, Jack and Shark fishing remains excellent.

March

Probably the best month to fish for Permit. Large schools of migratory Tarpon show up in the Keys, fishing can be very good. Bonefishing continues to get better as the water warms.

April

Permit fishing slows as fish leave the flats to spawn offshore. Large schools of Tarpon everywhere in the Keys and fishing is excellent. Laid up Tarpon in the backcountry and Bonefishing remains good.

May

Tarpon fishing is at it's best. Bonefishing remains good. Permit may still be offshore.

June

Many Tarpon are still around. Fishing is excellent. Permit show up on the flats again and are voracious after spawning. Bonefishing remains very good.

July - October

Captain Jimi is Trout fishing in Montana

November

Good Bone and Permit fishing, a few Tarpon remain until we get a few cold fronts.

December

Permit fishing is still good. Bonefishing slows. Barracuda and Jacks show up as the water cools. Shark fishing is very good.
